Meet the Author

Ken Bastian draws upon a rare firsthand experience that few contemporary authors can claim. In the 1960s, he spent three years in Samoa before tourism and modernization transformed the islands. Most of that time was spent on Savai’i, the largest and most traditional of the Samoan Islands, where he lived among the local people, learned the Samoan language, and studied their histories, legends, and oral traditions as preserved by the talking chiefs.

These experiences became the foundation for The Warrior from Siata series. Inspired by the rich, cultural heritage of Samoa, Bastian weaves traditional histories and legends into action-driven adventures that bring ancient stories to life for modern readers. His extensive research, combined with firsthand cultural immersion, allows him to create a vivid and authentic backdrop, rarely found in contemporary speculative fiction.

Following a successful career as an investigator and business manager, Bastian now dedicates his time to writing.
